Presentation Abstract
In the pursuit of Operational Excellence (Lean / Six-Sigma and Leadership) we are taught that “value is in the eyes of the customer”. But what about those who are not customers?
It is not enough to retain customers for a business to evolve and thrive; you need to win new customers and develop new markets. With your competitors all vying for the same customers with a similar value proposition – each benchmarking against one another – your collective offerings soon become commodities. And in the world of commodities, the only real differentiator is price.
Joseph F Paris Jr, President of XONITEK Corporation, discusses how employing the theories and methodologies of “Blue Ocean Strategy” and “demand creation” will grow your business by leveraging and configuring your existing assets and resources into undiscovered and uncontested marketplaces.
By utilizing the “strategy canvas” and Design for Six-Sigma (DFSS), you will learn how to reach beyond what is known, to the riches of what is yet to be discovered. Whether within the four-walls of your organization or across your entire businesses value-chain, you will learn how to identify opportunities where YOU create the benchmarks and marketplaces for others to pursue – and thus making the competition irrelevant.

The Congress is specifically designed to provide Industrial Engineering students with a diverse cross section of industry experience and education. As a keynote presenter, Mr. Paris will have the opportunity to participate in all other conference activities as desired.
