COURSE: Value Stream Mapping Boot Camp

Take the first step in changing the culture of your organization with our Value Stream Mapping (VSM) Boot Camp.   With over 25 years of experience in process flow management, our hands-on Lean Six Sigma practitioners will help you to understand your overall business flow – and to put the individual elements of that flow, in perspective.   This dynamic, interactive learning forum introduces you to VSM as the foundation of Lean Six Sigma culture through a combination of classroom-style instruction and hands-on peer discussion.  You will learn to look at your process flow not only through your eyes, but through the eyes of peers facing the same challenges – leaving you with a vibrant, fresh outlook on the potential and inherent benefit ofprocess change.

The Value Stream Mapping Boot Camp, part of XONITEK’s Lean Six Sigma Boot Camp Series will be held Friday March 23, at the Binghamton Club in Binghamton, New York.  All CEOs, managers, supervisors, change agents, manufacturing and plant managers, production control mangers and supervisors, materials managers and analysts, manufacturing and industrial engineers, and / or any individual in a position of leadership currently involved or looking to be involved in a Leantransformation, are welcome.    

Prerequisites:
– None 

In this course, you will:
– Review Lean Concepts and Benefits
– Understand the purpose of a Value Stream Map
– Learn and practice the symbols and layout of a Value Stream Map
– Learn to identify and separate “value” from “waste” 
– Gain further insight to your own processes through the challenges of your peers
– Construct a Value Stream Map that highlights an aspect or project of your own company
– Learn Process Mapping Symbols and Flow Process Maps, as compared with VSM
– Select and define a project

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
– Explain the concepts, benefits and overall value of Value Stream Mapping to peers
– Effectively observe a process and identify the waste and value (flow) within
– Draw a value stream map 
– Distinguish between Process Mapping and Value Stream Mapping
– Identify and prioritize value stream projects in your organization
